Dyna Blaster is a really addictive action arcade puzzle game, especially when played in multiplayer mode. The simplest games are often the best and this is definitely the case with Dyna Blaster. The game was initially released by Hudson Soft (as Bomber Man) for the arcades, NEC PC Engine and Sharp X68000 and was praised for its and addictive great gameplay. Dyna Blaster was later ported to the Commodore Amiga, Atari ST/E, Nintendo NES and PC (DOS) systems.

Review
Dyna BlasterSTORY / GAMEPLAY
The basic concept behind this game is quite simple: You run around a maze and plant your bombs (that detonate within 2 seconds) to explode walls as well as each and every enemy to finally unlock the portal and proceed to the next level! You can collect a variety of power ups to get extra bombs and more powerful or timed explosions. There are a few mystery bonuses that can either help or hinder your efforts, depending on how lucky you are! Note that if a bomb blast hits another bomb, that second one will go off as well (Domino Effect), so you must make sure you're far from this. Dyna Blaster has 64 levels of colorful and different pattern mazes and in some versions it comes with a special dongle (which is also Dyna Blaster's copy protection) that fits into your serial port, allowing 2 extra joysticks to be plugged! Thsi way you'll have an up to 5 players gameplay (four with joysticks and one using the keyboard)! The first one to score five victories is the overall champion! Surely the single player mode is very addictive but in head to head but a 5 Vs 5 is truly awesome! Running around a brick-wall blocked maze while trying to avoid multiple explosions, an unfriendly jelly-like ghost and 4 more "sadistic" players requires total concentration, fast reflexes and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Can you stand the heat?

GRAPHICS / SOUND
The game's graphics on the Atari ST are simple and awesome with colorful sprites and cool mazes. The sound includes a suitable chip tune and those all important explosion effects that add a lot to the game's, already addictive and fun, atmosphere. This game is a must for every Atari ST user!
